KARIN BRUCKNER

Karin Brückner’s interest in feet and foot ailments started at an early age due to her grandfather’s disability of having a congenital clubfoot.

 

This led to a career in the conservative treatment of feet and becoming a foot specialist after finding that this is the most important link to one’s physical independence.

 

After completing her studies, she started foot care clinics in five-day hospitals around the Western Cape where she consulted for three years on rotation before going into private practice in 1989.

 

 

Her dedication to her career in podiatry led to an election as a board member of Podiatry at the Medical and Dental Council, for a five-year term from 1993 to 1998. She also spent 6 years as chairperson of the SA Podiatry Association.
